A perfect day, with soundtrack
Yesterday it was lovely ( as it was today) and we headed off for one of those long, meandering, child-led walks. The kids were in of a long Middle Earth LARP, with Matthew as the self appointed DM ( he's the only one who understands the stats and can do the math) so I took my MP3 player. Appropriately, one of the songs playing while I watched my beautiful free range children gambole along the trail was Rush's Time Stand Still. Would that I could! Also apropos, I listened to my favorite Led Zep song, Battle of Evermore, which I personally think is far superior to Stairway.The boy is going on his first sleepover tonight, after a church social. The DM is uneasy- not because we don't implicitly trust The Boy's host- we do! but because it requires letting go.

Show busy
And not just driving two kids to two different dance schools: a week and a half ago I went to see Spamalot. Even itthough I was sad at first that Tim Curry and Alan Tudyk were not in, I can only describe it as absolutely fantabulous. If I had the money, I would see it ten times!This Saturday I will be taking HRH The Fae Princess to International Ballet Theatre's interpretation of Dracula. There is no combination more perfect for my little dancing gothlet.
I'm almost to the toe of The Dungeon Master's first sock. I figured out the heel turning thing just fine- squee!
Yesterday I allowed myself a trim- my first since April 2006- and this morning covered my gray. I have gotten rid of a few of my baggy, unflattering clothes items. Maybe if I start acting and dressing pretty, I'll fell batter about myself. Maybe.

Wherein I brag on my girlie
Today at church the choir director came to tell me what a good role model HRH is for the littler kids in choir. later in the morning we ran into a teacher with the MOPS group who wanted to verify that HRH could help her this Wednesday as she's "so good with the little kids". Then when I went to pick her up from rehearsals she had taken a scared little "partygoer" under her wing. ah, the warm maternal glow!Labels: bragging, wonderful girl

$ Movie Review- Transformers
This movie is a definate thumbs down. I know we should have checked beforehand, but I was quite shocked at some of the subject matter touched upon in a movie based on little kids' action figures ( never mind that that's a stupid premise for a movie anyway). By talking about suc h subjects as masturabation they ensure that most of the audience that could stand this movie won't be allowed to see it (if their parents are better informed than we are). It also made me even more nervous for Star Trek 11.Labels: mind numbing stupidity, Transformers
