The thing about poverty
working poverty, not abject poverty, is that you can embrace it for a while by feeling righteous and spiritual. But only the most spiritual of us can enbrace it long term. It becomes an increasing source of unhappiness and discontent, but when you're busy living and doing it can feel impossible to do anything about it.
